A highlight of the initiative is the Leading Lights WA Innovation and Investment Conference, expected to attract approximately 300 delegates. This event is designed to bring together start-up companies, research institutes, universities, government, financiers and service providers with a view to developing commercialisation skills, knowledge and networks. It will feature a mix of keynote addresses, workshops, pitch presentations, informal networking opportunities and business matching sessions
The Leading Lights Innovation and Investment Conference aims to build links between innovators and financiers, explore pathways to commercialisation, and showcase innovations in Western Australia's emerging industries.
The Conference objectives are to:
- help educate innovators on the needs of financiers and their decision matrices;
- explore national and international trends in venture capital and finance;
- establish formal and informal networks between Western Australian businesses and capital providers;
- profile Western Australia's innovative capacity to a national and international audience; and
- present a pool of investor-ready projects from early stage and emerging growth companies.
