Innovation and Business Development Mission to Israel

This will be led by the Australian Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry together with the Department of Industry and Resources from 23rd - 29th May 2008.

Israel is especially strong in the early stage development of new projects and transforming innovative ideas into marketable products. This includes a wide range of advanced technology sectors from biotechnology and medical equipment to electronics and electro-optics, Information Technology and software, communications and Internet applications, aerospace and new materials, safety and security systems.

Many of the world's largest companies haev established R&D centres in Israel including Intel, IBM, Motorola, Applied Materials, BMC, Creo, Marvell, Cisco, HP and Nestle.

The objectives of the mission are:

  • Create strategic linkages between Western Australian organisations and those in the Israeli market
  • Identify VC funding opportunities
  • Carry out research into market characteristics and nice opportunities
  • Information sharing on innovation; commercialisation; and industry development policy and business support programs
